Communication:
During the cosmetic chemistry project we looked at everyday products that people use such as shampoo, deodorant, mascara, soap, etc. and looked into all of the ingredients to see which could be potentially harmful or dangerous. We then researched all possible substitutions that would make that product safer and more natural. My partner and I chose lipstick and started by looking at all the common and popular lipstick brands such as Revlon and Ulta. We then picked out each ingredient and researched it further to find out if we should look to replace it. This project is where I experienced the best communication because of many reasons. All the work was evenly split, we both talked out any problems and disagreements that we had, we drastically changed and revised the recipes, and in the end we made about ten different samples of lipsticks that actually worked! My future goals for communication would be to always divide work as evenly as possible and to never fail to communicate whether it is through text, email, or in person just so everyone is on track and aware of what they're supposed to be doing.

(not) Beautiful Work:
One example of beautiful work would have to be the cosmetic chemistry project but since I don't have a finished sample, I brought my enjoyment reading instead. Enjoyment reading is a year long project where we read a book, and then proceed to write a book review or create an art piece on it. For this specific enjoyment reading I read the book Looking for Alaska by John Green and I picked an important twist in the story. Now, an example of not so beautiful work would have to be the cubism art project that we did in math. We had to pick objects or subjects that we loved and paint or draw them onto a recycled piece of material. The reason that I found this project difficult and challenging is because we were required to fit each shape in our drawing/painting into a specific size criteria and turn it into shapes, for example a guitar would have to be recreated into circles, lines, and squares only. In the end, I was not proud of my finished product and looking back I know that I should always give 100% effort into a project even if it's difficult.

Final Goal and Celebration
Collaboration:
In first semester, we did a project called Museo de Vida in which we studied Spanish culture and put on an exhibition where we all acted as if we were in Spain in the 1930's. My partner and I were on the art section of the exhibition and decided to create scripts in Spanish that we would read the day of the exhibition. These scripts would talk about various artists of that time such as Dali, Lorca, Picasso, and Khalo to talk about their life in everyday conversations.I think that our partnership went well because we were constantly sitting with each other, making sure that the other was on task, and revising our script with Mrs. Aleida in order to make sure that we put on an amazing exhibition. My future goal for collaboration would be to always accept the group/partnership that I'm in because it doesn't matter if you want to work with each other or don't, what matters is how you can come together and create the best finished product that you can. Overall, I believe that this year has had many challenges as well as celebrations, but I learned a lot from everything that happened. I feel like I have not only grown as a student, but as an individual, and am ready to go into junior year.
