1. Provide an overview of the problem your group was given and what you were required to do for your client. What we were asked to do was take the problem given which was, a combination of watercolors and oil pastel paintings and tell our client which combo would give them the most profit. We did this by using various equations and graphs to create a feasible region where we could see all the possible options for our client.
2. Explain how to obtain the best-possible recommendation for the problem. Be sure to include variable names, constraints and corresponding inequalities, the GeoGebra graph (properly labelled), the expression that you needed to maximize, and an explanation of how you know your recommendation is the best possible (be sure each vertex of the feasible region was tested!).What we did was we started out by creating equations for every constraint, some of which included (cost). Then we decided to put all those equations onto the graph and graphed the intersection points onto the line. When we connected the lines it made a shape called the feasible region. All of the points inside the feasible region were combinations of paintings that would stay within the constraints and still make profit. We chose the combination that gave our client the most profit and recommended it to her.
3. Explain the group roles (what they were responsible for and who was assigned the role). The Documenter: Annette was responsible for writing down everything important that we came up with including all the constraints, equations, and the answers that we get.The GeoGebra Guru: I (Zoha) was assigned to graph all of the constraints and equations onto the graphing program GeoGebra to make a feasible region we could then use to come up with the most optimal combination of paintings. The Spokesperson: Josh was responsible for doing most of the speaking and communicating to the client. He was the one who was taking our client step by step through what we were doing and how we came up with our recommendation for her. The Facilitator: Jacob was assigned to make sure that all the group members were on task and doing their own jobs. At the same time he still contributed to the conversation and helped solve the problem.
4. Provide a reflection of your client engagement. One celebration that we all had was that when we each tried the problem by ourselves, we each came up with the exact same actor which is what we ended up recommending to the client. I personally think that our whole group worked really well together. We all worked well together and we didn't really have any challenges except for we couldn't come up with an equation for the profit but eventually we did figure it out. I think that I did really good in my role because I understood GeoGebra and I knew exactly how to graph and do everything. I would've just rather been able to have more time and practice before that so that I would've done more in GeoGebra than just graphed points and lines, entered equations, and created polygons.
