To the sides are a side view and a top view of the catapult that Natalie, Liana, and I designed for our modern catapult. We did stick to our idea of creating a suspension machine and we used a bungee cord to act as the tension around the arm of the catapult. We attached eye lit hooks to the outside edge of the base and connected one end of the bungee to it, and the other on the arm. This made it possible so that when we pulled back, the force would be pulling the arm of the catapult back u so that when we let go of it, it would snap back really hard and shoot the ball up in the air. Unfortunately, our bungee cord was really waring out so we ended up attaching surgical tubing which was able to last much longer and had better stretching ability to snap the arm right back up.
